Price & Volume Trend Index

Price & Volume Trend Index is a indicator intended to relate price and volume in the stock market, it combines percentage price change and volume to confirm the strength of price trends. It is similiar to On Balance Volume but unlike OBV just takes volume according to whether the close was higher or lower, it includes how much higher or lower it was.

Formula:

PVT = ((( Today Close - Previous Close ) / Previous Close ) * Volume) + Previous PVT
